Digg Request: Merge Threads

I am a fairly active Digg user but what annoys me more than ever lately is the copying of thread news. When taking a look at the upcomming news threads, you will find several the same (or similar) news topics. When using the search function and use the most popular Digg terms like (Google, iPod, Apple, Microsoft, Top 10 and so on…) you will find many, many the same stories submitted to Digg.

I suggest a Merge Thread function at Digg

When commenting on a thread I suggest a button or a field where I can fill in the same or similar news story submitted to Digg. A editor will merge the thread, much like is done with forums.
