Submitting your website to a web directory can bring your website a lot of benefit. It provides you with a backlink (which helps in search engine rankings) and maby will give you some targetted traffic. At the moment of writing there’s a big contest among webmasters about who has the best web directory, which directory will give your like the better link juice.
It started over at digitalpoint forums where Mike Dammann decided to have a go with this web directorycontest. The contest is about which directory will end up no.1 in serp (search engine rankings) in google search engine on February the 6th of 2007 for the term “directorycontest.com“. There are big prizes to be won, for the no. 1 there’s 1200 USD, no. 2 400 USD and 3rd prize is 200 USD, futher on there are a lot of prizes from listings in directories to reviews, blog posts and much more.
It seems that various web directories have listed a featured listing to directorycontest.com in order to participate in this contest. This is an interesting contest to see which directory is really the better web directory and it would be great to see if botw, alive directory or aviva directory would join in this web directory contest and see the results.
